There is no maximum distance. Lamps talk to each other over the internet, so Toronto to Tokyo works exactly like Toronto to Montreal. Each lamp just needs Wi-Fi at its own end.

Yes. The lamps run on USB power and stay plugged in — like the frames, they’re designed to sit in one place and be always on, so a tap from the other end arrives instantly.

Because they’re USB-powered, any standard USB adapter works, here or overseas.

As many as you like. There is no limit on the number of lamps in one Group ID — some families run a dozen or more across several countries, all lighting up together.

Yes. The whole range is compatible, so a Friendship Lamp, an Infinity Lamp and a lamp from the Modern range can all share one group. You’re not locked into buying the same model for everyone.

Yes. USB power means you only need an adapter that fits the local socket — no voltage converter, no country-specific model. Connect it to Wi-Fi at the other end and it behaves exactly as it does here.

As many as you like. Pick any colour in the LuvLink App, or hold the touch button on the lamp and release when you reach the one you want.

No — not to enjoy your photos. You do not need an active Wi-Fi connection for the frame to display existing pictures. Wi-Fi is only needed to receive new photos sent from a phone, or to update the software.

That makes it an unusually easy gift. Set the frame up on your own Wi-Fi, load it with photos, then hand it over — it works from the moment it’s switched on, with nothing for the recipient to configure.

It suits anyone without home internet, a rural or unreliable connection, a grandparent who would rather not manage a network, a holiday house, caravan or office, and aged-care or hospital settings.

Yes. The frame is mains-powered and plugs into a wall adapter — there is no internal battery, so it isn’t a portable or cordless device.

That’s deliberate rather than a limitation. The frame is built to live in one place — a shelf, sideboard or mantelpiece — permanently on and permanently connected, so a photo sent from the other side of the world appears within moments rather than whenever someone remembers to charge it.

A battery-powered frame would go dark mid-week. Always-on is the entire point of the product.

LuvLink never charges a subscription — not for the frame, not for the app, not ever. You buy the frame once and everything it promises works: receiving photos, storage, the whole experience, for you and for everyone you invite.

One thing worth saying plainly, because we would rather tell you than have you find out later. The frames run Frameo, made by a separate company, and Frameo offers an optional paid tier called Frameo+. The free app sends up to 10 photos at a time and videos up to 15 seconds; Frameo+ raises that to 100 photos and two-minute videos and adds cloud backup.

If you’re sending Friendship Lamps to different homes, order them separately and connect them with the same Group ID once they arrive — they work together regardless of which order they came from.

Every LuvLink product includes a 12-month warranty. If it doesn’t work as intended in that time, contact us and we’ll arrange a replacement.

An extended lifetime warranty can be added at checkout if you’d like longer cover. Support is handled by our own team, so you're not chasing an outsourced call centre.

Plug the lamp into USB power, install the free LuvLink App — iPhone or Android — and follow the in-app setup to join it to your Wi-Fi.

To pair it with someone else’s lamp, use the same Group ID on both. It takes a few minutes and needs no computer.

First, join the 2.4GHz network. Our lamps connect on the 2.4GHz band, and most routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz — often under very similar names — so it’s easy to pick the wrong one during setup.

Second, check the Wi-Fi password carefully, including capitals.

Third, keep the lamp close to the router while it connects, then move it wherever you like once it’s joined.
